Our Story
It all started when Taryn and Kevin met on Hinge, but neither of them thought it would become what it did. After Kevin sent Taryn a "rose" on the app, the conversation quickly turned to football, but Kevin was a Patriots fan, so Taryn wasn't sure this could ever work out ;) She gave it a chance and was most intrigued instantly by Kevin's humor. Being unfamiliar with dating on apps, Taryn stopped responding for a bit, but Kevin didn't give up and followed up once more. He took a trip home to Boston, Massachusetts and while he was gone, charmed Taryn into agreeing to a date when he got back. Their first date was simple, but true to who they were. It was a Thursday, August 12, 2021, and they met at a park in workout clothes and with their boxing gear on, and Kevin held mitts for Taryn to train. It was full of instant banter and sarcasm, and comfortable and easy conversation. With the ease and flow of conversation continuing, they decided to move the date to Sweetgreen for dinner. Texting and Instagram messaging continued nonstop for the next couple of days and they couldn't wait much longer to see each other again, so Sunday was date #2. They met at Bowlero Woodland Hills and they both let their competitive sides shine (while Taryn won the first game, Kevin won the next two). After a truce, they enjoyed an easy meal at In N Out and spent hours together without even realizing how much time had passed. The dates continued every couple of days with simple and fun things they both liked to do; Buffalo Wild Wings, the Santa Monica Pier, friends' birthday parties and more. By the end of September, when waiting in line for a comedy show at the Laugh Factory, Kevin said "I love you"; it was the easiest "I love you too" for Taryn. Their relationship became full of adventures, like adopting and raising their rescue pup Biggie, traveling to the East Coast to meet Kevin's family which became a regular trip, intense football Sundays full of rivalry and competition, football Saturdays when they were able to root for the same team (go Trojans), running outdoor workout classes together, Taryn taking Kevin to Disneyland for his first time ever, and visiting new places together such as day trips to Ojai, weeks in Jamaica, exploring places like The Grand Canyon and Sedona, Arizona, and more. Time flew by as they continued to love each other more each day while learning about each other, connecting to and becoming part of each others' families, and figuring out what they wanted their future to look like. On July 30, 2023 Kevin and Taryn were supposed to go for a hike in the morning, but to Kevin's surprise, Taryn did not want to get out of bed or hike that day. After she tried her best to stay in bed and snuggle with Biggie, Kevin somehow convinced her to go look at the view near the hike at the very least. They pulled over to the perfect spot overlooking the Topanga Mountains and the ocean in Malibu where Kevin got out to admire the view; oblivious to Kevin's plan, Taryn stayed in the car and waited. After Kevin prompted her to come see the view and take a picture, she got out of the car only for Kevin to tell her he wasn't begging her to hike just for a hike. He proposed with just the two of them in this private moment and Taryn stood still in complete and utter shock, crying and trying to take in what felt like a daydream. When reality set in after hugs, kisses, and tears, Kevin reminded her that she needed to answer, but of course it was an easy "yes!" This was only the start of the next part of their lives together, and the next step toward all of the dreams they had talked about before.
